 Tips to Protect Your Credit

• Restrict the use of your Social Security Number.  Don't give your Social Security Number out unless it is absolutely necessary.  Don't include your Social Security Number on your checks, etc.
• Shred credit card receipts, statements and other private documents before throwing away.
• Protect your credit.  Do not give your credit card information out over the phone to someone who has called you.  Watch for people who might try to obtain personal information by looking over your shoulder.
•  Order a copy or your credit report once a year.  Be sure to order a copy from all three (3) of the large credit bureaus.
